The long awaited official announcement of where next year’s Winter Classic will be will finally come Thursday.

A person familiar with the NHL's plan said the Detroit Red Wings will play the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2013 Winter Classic.

The school says it will reduce the number of games it plays next season if the NCAA waives a penalty that prevents the Huskies from playing in the 2013 NCAA tournament.
